As one of the biggest producers in Australia, we operate at a scale that can deliver significant environmental benefits as a result of our green policies. 90% of energy consumption at our Buronga Hill winery in New South Wales, the third largest winery in Australia, is met by renewable sources. 60% of energy required is sourced from off-site wind and solar plants via a ground-breaking Hybrid Renewable Corporate PPA. A further 30% of Buronga Hill’s energy requirements comes from our own solar panel plant, which we installed in several phases, finishing in 2018 and making the site one of the largest privately-owned solar parks at an Australian winery. At Chi, we offer a fully customisable organic veg box delivery service in Bristol and Bath. It can be tailored to your needs so you can avoid waste and unwanted produce. There are two main options: Create a specific weekly order from our price list OR We can create you a randomized box, taking into account any special requests or dislikes. Boxes are typically made up greens, herbs and roots. We also deliver whole foods like Rice, dried goods, Sourdough breads and plant based milks. All our boxes are calculated with in the same way they would be if you were to create a box in the shop. We are able to offer our organic produce at a wholesale prices due to working closely with suppliers, making our service unique in the quality / affordability and customisability. For this service we require a minimum spend depending on your area for free delivery. There is a small sliding delivery charge if boxes are under this amount.
We make our bread throughout the day rather than through the night in contrast to many other bakeries. We do this for a few reasons, that it provides our customers with fresher bread that has not been waiting overnigh. We have spent years finding the recipes and techniques we use and are particularly indebted to Maurice Chaplais from Maison Chaplais, Wayne Caddy from the School of Artisan Food, the team at Le Cordon Bleu London and Christopher’s daughter Tiffanni who worked on developing many of our products including the ‘bloomer’ named after her. We use the finest ingredients: our flour (mostly organic) comes from Shipton Mill, the Bioreal organic yeast, fine sea salt and organic omega rich seeds – Sesame, Flax, Sunflower, Pumpkin, Millet and chopped Rye. Because we often use slow fermentation processes that soak flour and grains overnight the natural flavours are released, more nutrients are available and they are more easily digested than bread which is forced to ferment and baked quickly.

Crowdfarming is a production model for agriculture, bee-keeping, livestock and fishing which promotes direct contact between producers and consumers, enabling the first to plan their harvest and the latter to benefit from complete transparency on the origin of the food they consume and the way it is produced. Behind each CrowdFarming project there is a Farmer or a group of them making it possible. In 1991 Will Davenport planted 5 acres of vines at Horsmonden in Kent, while simultaneously working for a Hampshire vineyard and, unintentionally, this became the beginning of a life-long business as a wine producer. 26 years later the vineyards now make up 24 acres. Will was always a keen supporter of organic farming and in 2000 he made the decision to convert all the vines and winery to organic systems, certified by the Soil Association. The winery is at our East Sussex site in Rotherfield, capable of making 80,000 bottles of wine per year. Our own production is around 30,000 bottles, depending of the weather and crop yield each year.
