About the National Trust. In 2020 we’re celebrating our 125th anniversary. We’re carrying on the ambition set out by our founders to care for nature, beauty and history. Here’s a reminder of what we’re here for and how the values of our founders are still at the heart of everything we do. Looking for a different sort of holiday? Experience life as a ranger, a farmer or gardener with a National Trust working holiday. The range of locations and experiences are forever evolving, allowing participants to help care for some of the finest coast, countryside, historic houses and gardens in Britain.
Orchard Organic Farm & The Hens' Dens campsite
We are a mixed, family farm situated on the South Devon coast. We specialise in producing high quality organic eggs as well as fruit and vegetables. We have farmed organically in accordance with the Soil Association’s strict standards since 1995 and are exceed Organic to Soil Association’s standards and labelling. Orchard Organic Farm uses these as our minimum level of quality and welfare. We also offer farm-side camping in our timber tent / glamping pods, in The Hen’s Dens, set in a quiet spot amongst our cob nut trees and adjoining an orchard of organic desert apples trees.
Refugee Voices Tours 🏘 💚
Refugee Voices Tours began in Summer 2015 at the height of the so-called ‘refugee crisis’. A team of friends and activists, including a tour guide, decided to organise walking tours around Berlin to explain to the public the story behind the headlines and instead of concentrating on the migration aspect, we decided to explain the root causes of why so many are forced to flee. Since then we have organised 100s of tours for people from all over the world and have developed workshops to educate people further on the issues of dictatorships, war and migration. In 2016 Refugee Voices Tours Copenhagen was founded and our team continues to spread across Europe.
Our public tours run once a week or, alternatively, you can organise a private tour or workshop with us.
Responsible Travel (US & UK) 🌍 🏘 💚
We are pioneers in selling authentic and sustainable holidays since 2001, operating a match-making service to global destinations, working with more than 400 specialist & small travel companies. We are committed to making tourism a more caring industry, selling authentic holidays of two broad types: 1. Small group travel typically with 16-20 other travellers and an expert tour leader, is like having a friend in every place you visit – your guide knows where the menus don’t have photos of the food! It’s a great way to meet fellow travellers with shared interests, and a cost effective way to get the most from your travels. 2.Tailor-made trips are designed just for you. You do the things you want, in the order you want for as long as you want, and it’s just you or your friends and family, no one else (well maybe your local guide!).

Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (UK) 🌍 🌟🦅
The RSPB is a charity, founded in 1889 and run by a Council of volunteers. Wildlife is facing huge challenges. Species are dying out, climate change is affecting the environment and pressures on land are growing. What are we going to do about it? Reserves are at the heart of what we do. They’re vital to our conservation work and priceless spaces for everyone to get close to nature. We believe they work best when they connect with wild spaces and habitats in the wider landscape. That’s why we’ll be working to make bigger, better, more joined up homes. We base our work on good analysis of the threats facing birds and the environment. We see a problem, work out what is causing it, and find ways to put it right.
Sock Mob Events - London tours (UK) 🏘 💚
Unseen Tours was born in 2010 from the inspiring work of The Sock Mob, a volunteer network that engages with men and women living on the streets of London. They use the ice-breaking power of a pair of warm socks to engage rough sleepers and other vulnerable groups. In this way, interactions are created between people from different walks of life, who might never otherwise connect on any meaningful level. Unseen Tours takes this model a step forward, by supporting vulnerably housed individuals to develop, curate, and lead guided walks to different neighbourhoods of London. Since the summer of 2010, we have worked with more than 20 guides and offered walks in eight different areas of the city. Each year, we run more than 450 walks, and welcome 6500+ guests.
Stay Wild Swim - the-directory (UK) 🌍
We feel a responsibility to give back to the ocean and Stay Wild is our way of doing that. It is our passion project, one we pour our hearts and souls into. It gives us the opportunity to not only fight the marine plastic problem but actively contribute to the solution. Through Stay Wild we are able to channel our energy into building a brand which reflects our style as well as our values. Our mission is to produce swimwear with a purpose. Not only are our pieces created using regenerated ocean plastic through the most sustainable practices possible; they are made into clean cut styles which are designed to flatter every woman. In short, we want Stay Wild to enable you to make the best choice you can without compromising style or substance.
Sustaining Tourism (CA) 🌍
As more regions and countries develop their tourism industry, it produces significant impacts on natural resources, consumption patterns, pollution and social systems. The need for sustainable/responsible planning and management is imperative for the industry to survive as a whole. At Sustaining Tourism our experiences, education in tourism and work experience have led us to believe passionately in the principles of sustainable tourism. We have experience in both practical and theoretical implications of tourism and all facets of tourism development and management. For consulting assistance with your project or destination, please contact us.
Trees For Life (UK) 🌍
Trees for life is an award-winning Scottish conservation charity. Our mission is to rewild the Scottish Highlands by enabling the restoration of the globally unique Caledonian Forest which once covered much of Scotland. Integral to our success is the involvement of people. Volunteering offers a rewarding and hugely enjoyable opportunity to restore native forests and wildlife habitats. With the help of volunteers, we have planted nearly two million trees. We need volunteers to get behind our mission and help bring back the forest. Conservation Weeks are an opportunity for volunteers from across the world, of all ages and backgrounds, to help restore Scotland’s natural environment.
Tribes Tourism & Travel (UK) 🌍 🌟👣
I started Tribes, with my husband Guy, in 1998 after years as a travel guide and within travel marketing. Over the years the company has grown but we are still family-run and independent. We also still follow the same simple ethos: we want you to have the very best holiday experience possible, and we try to ensure that travel is sustainable.
We are proud to have a superb team of people alongside us. We all travel regularly to update our knowledge of the places we recommend, and this expertise is available to you. I guess we must be doing something right as many of our travellers come back to us again and again.
