Brecon & District Credit Union was established in 1995 by community members within the County of Powys who identified the need to tackle issues such as social and financial exclusion, unlicensed lenders (loan sharks) and regeneration. Saving with the credit union is a little different from saving with other financial institutions. Before taking out a loan of any kind it’s worth taking the time to understand how credit union lending works. We offer a range of services to our members, and because we are a not-for-profit organisation we can offer more flexible, more attractive and cheaper services than many other banks or building societies.
